Our Green Commitment

Our Green Pledge

The TEFAT Green Curriculum is arranged around four interlinking sustainability themes and each Academy is committed to reflect one theme in their own setting. These are Green Systems, Green Regeneration and Diversity, Green Communities and Green Citizens.

Our Green Curriculum is woven seamlessly throughout our entire curriculum, ensuring that sustainability, environmental awareness, and eco-friendly practices are integral across subjects and learning experiences. 

George Betts Primary Academy’s Commitment in 2026-27 is Green Systems. 

This year we will focus on ENERGY • EFFICIENCY • WASTE

We will: 

• Reduce electricity usage – encouraging staff and children to switch off lights, interactive screens, computers and other electrical equipment when they are not being used.

• Reduce heating waste – making sure doors and windows are closed when the heating is on and avoiding heating rooms unnecessarily.

• Reduce waste – focusing on recycling, reusing resources and reducing unnecessary printing, worksheets and paper use across the school.
