Dear parents,
We would like to clarify with you the procedure in school for dealing with a child who is displaying symptoms of COVID-19.
If your child is in school but is showing symptoms, they will be removed from their class bubble to a special room we have allocated for any pupils who we suspect may have COVID-19 symptoms. The child will be supervised by a member of our staff at all times and you as the parent will be called straight away so that you can come and collect them as soon as possible. It is really important that we have your up to date information and that you answer any calls from school.
If there are any siblings of the symptomatic child in school, we will send them home also. We will insist that you get a COVID-19 test done as soon as possible. If the test is negative, we will need to see proof of this and the child (and siblings) can return to school. If the test is positive, we will follow government guidance and inform you of how many days you would need to isolate as this will change, depending on what point we are at with this pandemic.
It is also important that you do not send your child to school if they are showing symptoms at home. If this is the case, please contact the school office to report your child’s absence.
If you hear any information that worries you or if you have any concerns or questions, please call school and we will be happy to advise.
Yours sincerely,
Miss Carroll and Mrs Rolfe
