Last month some of our talented pupils entered a global Art competition with the theme of ‘into the wild’. They worked with a local Artist to produce their exhibition.
The pupils looked at three areas of Art and Design which were; soft and oil pastel, sculpture and animation.
First the children made rough sketches of various skins and fur patterns and experimented with textures.
They used oil and soft pastels to create realistic furs and skins.
This is the finished installation:
The entry was submitted. Unfortunately we were not selected as one of the finalists, however the judges emailed us personally to say “we were so impressed by the wonderful animal picture made up of different parts of animals, the lovely monkey sculptures and the brilliant animation that we would like to award you with a highly commended certificate.”
We should be receiving this shortly. Well done to all pupils involved, we are so proud of them!
