Year 2 had a great day in Birmingham yesterday!
They visited Singers Hill Synagogue, a beautiful building, which is home to the Birmingham Hebrew Congregation and has been the focal point for Jewish worship and community life in Birmingham for 159 years. Known as the “cathedral” synagogue, Singers Hill is Birmingham’s most important and influential Synagogue.
The learnt lots about the Jewish faith, and all about the Torah Scrolls, Jewish Traditions and the Jewish Symbols. Their visit included a full tour of the building, where they got to ask questions too.
They also visited Birmingham Library. The building itself is amazing! The children learnt all about what goes on at the library and then had some free time to explore! They were able to look at whichever books they wanted to which was great fun! Then they listened to Miss Hand read a story.
