On Friday the whole school took part in World Music Day!
There were lots of activities for the children to take part in and everyone had a great day!
We were visited by two groups of performers: in the morning we listened to and watched amazing steel drummers! They talked about their instruments and performed their own versions of lots of popular songs that we all recognised. We all couldn’t help but sing along!
In the afternoon we watched a fab folk duo, who performed a selection of songs including folk tunes from UK, Ireland and eastern Europe. They talked to the children about their instruments and even did a few tricks!
In class, everyone produced a creative response to a piece of classical music. These included dramas, dances, animation and artwork.
We also transformed our reading garden into a music garden which the children all really enjoyed!
