Everyone at George Betts has been remembering the importance of Poppy Day. On Friday 11th November, the whole school went outside to our reading garden at 11 o’clock to share a 2 minute silence to remember all of the brave men and women who have died in war. It was a very special moment, and it was finished off with a beautiful version of “The Last Post” played by two very talented Year 6’s. Thank you Jaheim and Tamir! You played your instruments brilliantly.
During the build up to Friday, we have been selling poppies and other merchandise to raise money for this very worthwhile cause. We are totalling up the donations and will share with you how much we’ve raised very soon! Thank you for your ongoing support.
